About the Institute

 

The International Institute for Advance Research and Education (IIARE) is a non profit organization which will be established in 2011 under the Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh with the initiative of some eminent scholars and academics keeping in view to offer M. Phil and Ph. D degree based on intensive course work and research in the discipline of social sciences, liberal arts, law, public health and business in collaborative efforts with the foreign universities of Australia, India, China, Europe, Canada and USA. There will be provision also to make link with the public universities in Bangladesh to offer M. Phi and Ph. D degree in collaborative efforts of different disciplines. IIARE is an academic plat form for inter-disciplinary study and research on various aspects of life, society, culture and development.

Rationale of IIARE

With the scope of expansion of higher education in Bangladesh , the number of university is increasing in alarming rate both at the public and private levels. The number of qualified, experienced and trained teacher is meager to ensure the quality of education. On the other hand, the scope of higher education like M. Phil and Ph. D in foreign countries is reducing because of paucity of scholarship due to financial constraint in global perspective and as result the scholars are not getting opportunity for higher education. Keeping with this view, IIARE has established to offer higher education especially M. Phil and Ph. D degree in order to ensure quality of higher education at the college and the university levels.

Objectives of IIARE

 

The main aims and objects of this institute is to offer M. Phil and Ph. D degree in close cooperation with foreign partner universities to encourage higher education which may contribute for human resource development in Bangladesh as well as nation development. The specific objectives are as follows:

• To promote, and provide facilities for, advanced studies and research on the history, geography, economics, politics, anthropology, sociology, social work, law, gender issue, climate and disaster issue, development and culture of Bangladesh and such other subjects as are significantly related to the life and society of Bangladesh leading to the M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees.

• To undertake research projects in cooperation with public or private organizations as and when necessary under mutual agreements.

• To place at the disposal of society the results of the researches conducted at the institute for fruitful utilization in planning and development schemes;

• To organize seminar, conference and workshop of different issues.
